Itinerary

7:15 am Dawn's Chorus & Primates Play: Your journey begins as the sun casts golden hues, revealing playful troops of howler and spider monkeys. Their boisterous calls blend harmoniously with the melodic trills of toucans and the vibrant flutters of scarlet macaws. Every step towards the park is a potential wildlife encounter.

Rio Pargo's Animal Encounters: As you delve into the Rio Pargo trails, the crunch of leaves beneath might just be a stealthy agouti or a curious white-faced capuchin observing your passage. The sunlit glades and shadowy underbrush teem with life, waiting for those with keen eyes.

Lunch Amidst Wilderness Wonders: As our indigenous guide shares tales passed down through generations, our dedicated staff serves your meal. The enchanting narratives find company in the rustling underbrush, where families of coatis play and peccaries tread, weaving the present with the age-old stories of the land.

Elevated Exploration & Waterfall Hideouts: The upper trails are not just a terrain of beauty but also a vantage point. Spot the majestic tapir taking a leisurely stroll or a crocodile sunning itself by secluded water pockets. There, you'll have the opportunity to cool off in the waterfalls.

Dusk in the Realm of Jaguars: As the canopy darkens, set your camp amidst the age-old trees, in the very heartland of the jaguar. These territories, marked by camera traps, hold the possibility of the elusive big cat, making every rustle a thrilling sound.

Forest Feast Delivered by our Staff: As the forest cloaks itself in twilight, enjoy a hot dinner delivered by our staff and rest in the hammocks set up for you and meditate on the sounds of the forest.

Night’s Mystical Parade: With the moon as your guide, nocturnal wonders come alive. The glinting eyes in the dark might belong to a tree frog or the silent flight of an owl, making every moment an adventure.

Morning’s Melody & Legacy of Giants: Awaken to a world where macaws paint the skies and the distant calls of monkeys beckon. As you trace your steps back to the Lodge, a colossal ancient tree awaits, its vast trunk hiding an inner chamber, reminding you of the timeless tales the forest whispers.

Wilder Trails.  Deeper Tales.  Pure Exploration.

Are there more animals at Sirena?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: We only do tours to San Pedrillo because we believe it is a better experience for our guests. San Pedrillo is primary rainforest whereas Sirena is secondary. San Pedrillo offers an old growth environment which is what people would expect to see in Corcovado, enormous, rare tree species and undisturbed forest. The scenery there is unbeatable with majestic waterfalls and rivers.

Most tours from Drake Bay go to Sirena because the trails are completely flat and easy for people of all physical conditions to do. Any blog that says the Sirena Station has more wildlife than San Pedrillo is outdated and misinformed. There are just as many animals in the San Pedrillo sector as Sirena with the added benefit of also having less humans touring there every day!
